Why We Built This Site
Michigan does not publish one public list that covers every warrant in the state, and Ingham County is no exception. The job is split. The court that issues a warrant sets the charge and the bond. The Ingham County Sheriff serves it and can speak to whether it is still outstanding. A bench warrant for a missed date in Lansing belongs to 54-A District Court, while the same kind of warrant in Mason belongs to the 55th. Felony files move up to the 30th Circuit Court, and support matters run through the Friend of the Court on South Jefferson Street.
That split is what trips people up. Someone checks one office, hears nothing, and assumes the matter is closed. The MiCOURT case search is a docket lookup and not a warrant list. LEIN is reserved for law enforcement, and an ICHAT criminal-history check does not report warrants. We gathered the addresses, phone numbers, court routes, and record fees for each Ingham County office into one place so a reader starts at the right counter.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant lookups: how to start a warrant search with a full legal name, a date of birth, and a case number, and which clerk to call first
- Outstanding warrants: what it means when a case is listed as active, how the 55th District Court report is dated, and why a clear result proves little on its own
- Missed court dates: how bench warrants start in the 55th, 54-A, and 54-B District Courts and how the Friend of the Court fits in
- Charge-based warrants: how arrest warrants are issued on probable cause and served across Ingham County
- Traffic and city cases: how a traffic warrant and a municipal court case are handled where no city court of its own exists
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Michigan court, the Ingham County Sheriff, or any state agency, and there are real limits on what we can help with:
- We cannot run an official warrant check or confirm that a warrant exists for any person
- We cannot pull, recall, quash, or clear a warrant on any system
- We cannot post bond or take any payment toward a warrant or a court fine
- We cannot set a court date or arrange a surrender at the jail
- We cannot give legal advice or say how a warrant applies to a specific case
- We cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or listing here is current today
Only the court that issued the warrant, or the Ingham County Sheriff's office that holds it, can confirm whether a warrant exists and whether it has been recalled or served. We can send you to the right office, but the answer has to come from that office.
Search Partners
Some pages here carry search boxes run by third-party providers. Those companies set their own prices and run their own services. If a tool leads you to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee, and that revenue keeps this site free to read. We do not control what a partner charges or what its results contain, and a partner result is not an official warrant check.
