Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or date of birth typed into one of the search boxes here goes straight to the third-party provider that runs that tool. The partner processes the request and returns the results. We do not capture or log the terms entered on our side.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we keep the message long enough to reply. It stays inside our team. Nothing is shared outside our organization unless a legal duty forces it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, the server behind it records routine technical details about the visit:
- Timestamps for each page view
- The referring site, if one sent you here
- Which pages were viewed and how long each stayed open
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The IP address assigned to your device
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies are stored on your device so we can see how the site is used, including which pages draw the most traffic and where readers leave. Analytics services help us combine that traffic into totals. Your browser settings can block cookies at any time. Blocking them may change how parts of the site behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping pages online and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the correct partner service
- Learning which pages help readers and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Serving ads that may relate to your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. What we publish is general guidance about where Ingham County records are held and how to reach the offices that keep them, including the 55th, 54-A, and 54-B District Courts, the 30th Circuit Court, and the Ingham County Sheriff.
Individual Ingham County agency records fall under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., which sets how a public body responds to a written request and which categories it may withhold. Court files are governed by court rules rather than county FOIA, so a case request goes to the clerk of the court that holds it. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing gathered about visitors is turned into a consumer report about any person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes on this site. Whatever is entered into one of those tools is handled under that partner's privacy policy instead of this one. Those companies set their own retention and sharing rules, and we do not direct them. Read the partner's policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
Pages here link out to court portals, Sheriff's office pages, state record services, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's own privacy policy then governs the visit. Read it before entering personal details.
Some advertising partners may follow activity across sites to target ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited set of parties may handle it:
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process the queries you run here
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security practices are used to guard the data we hold. No internet-connected system is unbeatable, though. We take reasonable steps to protect your information and cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has shared data with us, contact us and it will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Michigan law, including the Michigan Consumer Protection Act, MCL 445.901 et seq., and the Identity Theft Protection Act, MCL 445.2501 et seq., may give you added rights over your data. At a minimum, you can:
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
- Ask that your data be erased
- Have incorrect information corrected
- Request a copy of what we hold about you
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. When it does, the revised version is posted on this page with a new effective date. Check back to see how your information is handled.
